⚛️MATTER IN OUR SURROUNDINGS(CHAPTER -01)
INTRODUCTION
🌀First of all you want to know what is Matter? You know this is very interesting. 🤔Let’s try to understand…
Matter:- Anything which occupy space and have a mass called matter.
Everything in this universe is made up of material which scientists have name Matter.
Here you considered this object as a example of matter. The Bag, The Chair,An Umbrella, The Bicycle, The Clock all have some mass and occupy some space also.

Mass:- The quantity of matter contain by the body is called mass.
Occupy space:- It mean the matter take or cover any place.
After understanding this term you aware with this term also.
Shape:-This is external outline of the body.

Size:- How big or small something.

Texture :-The way that something feels when you touch it.

⏩ Coming soon…
There are some more term which I recall you here. Dimension,2D,3D, Perimeter,Area, Volume etc.

How to recognise the given object or figure is 2D or 3D. Some Simple step to find out. 2D figure contain 2 Dimension(Length , Breadth) and 3D figure contain 3 Dimension(Length, Breadth, Height) .
Perimeter:- The total outline of a body.
Area:- The space covered by a body.(2D)
Volume :- The capacity of a body.(3D)
Early Indian philosopher classified the matter in the form of five basic elements:-(The Panch tatva) The five basic elements are:-Fire,Air,Water,Sky,Earth.
Ancient Greek philosophers had arrived at a similar classification of matter.
Modern day scientist have evolved two type of classification of matter based on their physical property in chemical nature.
1.1:- PHYSICAL NATURE OF MATTER
(1)-Matter is made up of particles. This activity show that the any matter in this universe is made up of particles.See activity 1.1
(2)-How small are these particles of matter. This activity show that the particles of matter is so small.See activity 1.2
Note:- The particles of matter are very small they are small beyond our imagination.
1.2:- CHARACTERISTICS OF PARTICLES OF MATTER
(1)- Particles of matter have a space between them.
(2)- Particles of matter are continuously moving.
(3)- Particle of matter attract each other.
